TRAVEL FOR SIS 2026 CONFERENCE

N.B.: To travel on buses and trams in Dublin, you must purchase a Leap Card (here the two options: 1. Visitor card; 2. Regular one) or have coins available, as there are no contactless payment machines.

Leap Cards can be topped up using Irish Rail and Luas ticket machines, at Leap agents, and in Post Offices. You can find a full list of agents in your area here.

You can also download the Leap Top-up App on an NFC-enabled Android phone or an iPhone 7 or later to top up your card directly from your phone.

UCD

(9-10 of July)

  • On 9 and 10 July, the conference will take place at the Sutherland Building at University College Dublin in Belfield, Dublin 4 (click here to see it on Maps).

The University campus is well-served by many bus routes (see here the Public Transport Guide). Bus stops are located within the campus and at the main entrance (please click here to plan your journey).

The buses that serve UCD from the city centre are, for example, the 39A, E1, and E2.

If you plan to come by taxi, click here to launch a taxi fare estimator to help better plan your journey.

If you wish to drive to UCD please be aware that visitor pay and display parking is in effect. Please click here to view information on charges and parking locations. Also, there are traffic calming barriers in place to prevent traffic and make the campus safer for pedestrians and cyclists. These barriers are in place from 7:00 am to 10:30 am and from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm Monday to Friday all year round. Please see further information in the Guide to Parking in UCD.

If you are arriving directly from the airport, also consider that there is a direct Aircoach bus, a convenient and relatively fast option (see here a direct link to Aircoach Timetable).

Another bus service, Dublin Express, operates from Dublin Airport to the city centre, but please note it does not serve UCD.

TCD

(11 of July)

  • On 11 July, the conference will take place at Trinity College Dublin, in Dublin city centre (College Green, Dublin 2, D02 PN40; click here to see it on Maps).

Plenary sessions will take place in the Hamilton Building; parallel sessions will take place in the Arts Building.

The University campus is well-served by public transport: click here for directions.

If you plan to come by taxi, click here to launch a taxi fare estimator to help better plan your journey.

If you wish to drive to TCD, the closest parking option is Setanta Car Park.

If you are arriving directly from the airport, click here to see the options.
